Who am I and what is True North Quality?

I’m Tim Petersen, living in Central Oregon with my wife, Mary, and our two golden retrievers Todd and Kevin. We enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that Central Oregon has to offer — golfing, kayaking, and fishing. An amazing place to live!

With over 35 years in the manufacturing quality sector, both military and commercial. My career began at Northrop Grumman, where I spent 25 years working on advanced programs like the B2B Stealth Bomber and F-18 C/D Hornet, E/F Super Hornets, as well as cutting-edge drone and unmanned systems like the Global Hawk. Following that, I expanded my expertise while collaborating with vendors of these top-tier companies like Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, and Boeing, focusing on refueling avionics, black boxes, and more.

My journey then took me to Sentran, LLC as Quality Manager and going from zero to ISO certified. Sentran is a leader in the commercial load cell, transducer, sensor manufacturing, industry for decades. Then I moved to the industrial floor care manufacturing where I managed four companies for Ultimate Solutions, Inc. 

Through it all, I have been hands-on in manufacturing, leading quality assurance, performing system/process audits, quality engineering managing vendors, holding senior management positions and ultimately becoming a business owner.

 This diverse experience with both very large to small businesses, led to the creation of True North Quality, where I offer expert hands on consulting services in ISO/AS standards, QMS feasibility studies, quality systems development and maintenance, and process improvement by lowering the cost of quality. I’m passionate about meeting established and up and coming businesses, helping achieve excellence through robust quality systems and compliance, bringing practical solutions drawn from decades of industry knowledge.
